Release of the most interesting prototypes.

This section lists the most interesting prototypes, those that deserve some attention. They have Debugs menus, dev options or are early builds. The differences with the retail version can be significant.

Some have their own pages, others a little explanation of their content.

These are releases that I had done mainly on the Assembler games forum before the creation of my website.

GD-Rom pressed pink which could correspond to a version of white label not used finally. It would have been called "Phantasy Star Online Beta"

Disks used to identify possible failures of Dreamcast consoles. The customer after-sales service used it.

Release Candidate of the game with dev options to unlock through button combos (Free camera. Bonus cars are unlocked and directly accessible.

This RPG contains a very comprehensive Debug menu. It must be a translation build, some passages still being in English.

Notable differences like the title screen of the game. In-game options are missing. The music is different and many other variations.

2 prototype version of Nightame Creatures 2 with keyboard dev option to activate a sort of Debug menu (Free camera, sound check for example)

Prototype with a Debug menu in the inventory. It also contains never-before-seen monsters not implanted in the final version.

Thanks to button combos, it is possible to activate certain options such as invincibility or pass the level. Some levels are not finished, in particular the end cutscene (missing textures).

Early build of the game with some dev options like giving back time between checkpoints. There are also graphics problems, buildings are floating. Without forgetting the collision bugs which are frequent.

Debug impressive menu present in game to unlock in a special way. Some segments of the title are still in Japanese.

Dev options are to be unlocked using button combos. We can be invisible or make the desired weapon appear. Textures are missing.

  • Debug options are present. You have to do a button combo with the port 1 joystick. You can:

  • have the Free Camera

  • have Camera Flight Mode

  • Go through and choose the levels where the cutscenes.

This build contains a different intro than the one we know. Which is the main interest of this prototype version. There are also some changes in the menus.

This prototype has all levels and all boats unlocked.

By searching the files, we can find some of the source codes of the games. This was already the case on the 2 other builds that I shared.

The peculiarity of this prototype concerns the demo which is pending on the "Start" screen. Instead of having a sequence of the games, we have a promotional cutscene.

A push menu debug is present by inserting a keyboard in port 2 of the console. It gives access to lots of options. It would take a long time to quote them all to you, the easiest way is to give it a try.

This is an alpha version. It is easy to see that the game was at a very early stage. The menus are basic, not worked. Levels are incomplete like obstacle course.

This prototype has the most extensive debug menu, one of the most complete I have seen so far. It is possible to modify the physics of the vehicles (weight, brake ect). The easiest way is to connect a keyboards to port 2 and you will see !!!!
